Pioneering a Circular Future for Mattress Production

The ReCover project is a major step forward in sustainable mattress production. By integrating advanced solutions such as Resortecs’ Smart Stitch™, a heat-dissolvable sewing thread, and TripleR.io’s digital product passport solution, the project aims to develop a fully recyclable, multi-material mattress cover without compromising on quality or hygiene standards.

Innovating for a More Sustainable Industry

The ReCover initiative will focus on three key innovation areas:

• Ecodesign Innovations: In collaboration with BekaertDeslee, the project will develop mattress covers designed for easy dismantling and textile-to-textile recycling, ensuring that each separated material has a viable recycling route.
• Dismantling & Recycling: Resortecs’ Smart Stitch™ and Smart Disassembly™ technologies will enable automated and efficient material separation at the product’s end-of-life stage, making recycling seamless and cost-effective.
• Digital Product Passport: TripleR.io’s MattressID cloud-based platform will create a product transparency solution, ensuring seamless identification and tracking of mattress covers throughout their lifecycle. This will enhance traceability, accountability, and circularity.
