Future forecast

Staying attuned to future developments is crucial for our industry and beyond, ensuring adaptability, innovation, and competitiveness in an ever-evolving market landscape.

Napping Nooks

Napping is one of life’s greatest joys.

Creating private nooks and resting spots offers a perfect escape from the busy areas of home. Sinking into a futon-style daybed, oversized floor cushions, or pouffes, is making lounging a breeze.

For added privacy, use curtains and screens to carve out your own serene space. Whether it’s an afternoon siesta or a nap outdoor, these cozy corners can transform your snooze into a blissful retreat.

Responsible living

In our industry, sustainability and responsible living mean using eco-friendly materials and manufacturing processes to reduce environmental impact, ensuring healthier sleeping environments for our customers.

Circular Manufacturing

Circular manufacturing in textiles emphasizes creating products that are reusable, repairable, and recyclable. A key strategy is using mono-materials, like 100% cotton or polyester, which are easier to recycle than blended fabrics. This reduces waste and energy use, supports sustainability through a closed-loop system, meets consumer demand for eco-friendly fashion, and prepares companies for stricter environmental regulations.

Clear Rivers is a not-for-profit organization tackling the plastic pollution crisis by catching river plastics before they reach the open waters, organizing cleanups, and educational workshops, and recycling the retrieved litter into new durable products.
Social media is buzzing about 'Goby The Fish,' a beach sculpture in Malpe, India. Created by sculptor Janardhan Havanje, this 10ft tall, 8ft wide iron and plastic installation highlights the impact of plastic pollution on marine life.
The Plastic Fish Tower is a futuristic concept that uses negative pressure to collects plastic from the plastic soup in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The goal is to process the plastic on site.
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a major environmental issue. To address it, the "7th Continent – Kinetic Islands" project proposes a massive floating farm and resort in the North-east Pacific Ocean, designed to manage and reduce plastic waste.

Did you know that BekaertDeslee already made a cover in 100 % recycable materials?

We’ve reimagined mattress covers to be better for the planet – a zipperless mattress cover made entirely from one single material, (recycled) polyester.

Previously composed of various components, we’ve re-engineered this concept to be a mono material product, ensuring it is fully recycable.

This transformation not only simplifies the recycling process but also significantly reduces environmental impact.
